Few had expected that: As the first team in the promotion round, EV Moosburg succeeded in taking points off Buchloe points on Friday.
Moosburg - At the Pirates, the green-yellow celebrated a scarce but well deserved 6: 5 (2: 1, 2: 2, 2: 2) success - and thus came back in the fight for fourth place.
"We were more compact at the back than in the past few weeks and scored the goals at the right times at the right time," EVM coach Bernie Englbrecht summed up. And not to forget: "Everyone fought until the end." The guests had to compensate for some losses. Englbrecht therefore called the two U20 players Benedikt Triebswetter and Daniel Loidl to the squad - and they did a great job.
Miloslav Horava makes a double strike
The Moosburg team got off to a good start and were not put off by ESV's outnumbered lead (5th): Miloslav Horava brought his team into the lead with a double strike (12th / 15th). If the EVM had a longer period of weakness at all, then these were the first minutes of the second section: The hosts determined what happened and turned the match within 37 seconds - 3: 2! However, the guests pulled themselves together and came only 3 and a half minutes later to Vincenzo Maier's 3: 3. That Tobias Hanöffner "pulled back" the match shortly afterwards (32nd) was possibly the crux of the matter.

Turning the game again after the fourth Moosburg goal was a big challenge, said ESV coach Christopher Lerchner after the game. And they didn't master the Pirates. Especially since Stefan Groß (47th) ensured for the first time a two-goal advantage of the Dreirosenstadt. The connection eight minutes before the end raised hopes again - but experienced Hanöffner put the lid on in the third to last minute. The last gate was reserved for Buchloe, but came two seconds before the siren too late.
