First-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils won the Montpellier Tennis Championship by beating Canadian Vasic Pospisil in the final two sets to none to score his third title in this tournament.

Reuters reported that the 33-year-old Monvis settled the two groups in his favor by 7-5 and 6-3, respectively, as his 132-year-old competitor Busbacill began suffering from a leg injury.

With this title, Monfils became the world's ninth ranked eighth French champion in ten copies of the tournament, while Canadian Busbessel failed to win his first title in his career.
