It was two unnecessarily lost points against a beatable opponent. On Friday, TEV Miesbach was beaten for the first time in the gearing round against a home backdrop.
The team of coach Peter Kathan lost 3: 4 against the Höchstadt Alligators after a penalty shootout. At least one point remained in the county town, which allowed the TEV to defend its third place in the table. The results of the competition make it really exciting in the battle for third to eighth places.
At the press conference after the game, Kathan didn't really know whether he should be happy about one point or mourn two lost points: “Overall, I'm disappointed because we can play better. We made too many easy mistakes, were not up to the game defensively and allowed a lot of shots. ”At 3: 3, he was glad that the TEV had brought the result over time. “Both sides had their chances in overtime. We have to be satisfied with the point, it will definitely be exciting again. "
In addition to Thomas Schenkel (sick) and Andreas Nowak (groin), Kathan also had to do without Timon Ewert (cold) against Höchstadt. Beppo Frank, however, bit his teeth despite a knee injury. So Anian Geratsdorfer stood between the posts and remained flawless. When conceding goals, he was pitifully let down by his teammates.
Everything had started so well for the TEV. After half a minute there was the first penalty for the guests and it only took another eleven seconds before the 1-0 fell. Dusan Frosch thoughtfully put back on Florian Feuerreiter, who shot in. At the next power play, the outstanding man from Höchstadter, keeper Benjamin Dirksen, defused a great opportunity for Filip Kokoska. With a quick counterattack, the guests equalized in the middle of the first round.
Overall, the Miesbachers acted timidly in the first round and made too many bad passes. Apart from the lead goal, the powerplay on the train to the goal was missing. A hit from a total of six overpowering situations was not enough to score three points.
In the second section, the guests increasingly took over the direction - the 1: 2 (29th) was only a matter of time. When Max Hüsken equalized after another strong preparatory work by Frosch, the townspeople woke up again. A minute after the 2-2, TEV's opening goal fell when Johannes Bacher was put down and the washer slid into the goal. The referees gave the hit, but after a long discussion they recognized it again. The TEV did not let it out of the game. A minute later, Sebastian Deml hammered the puck into 3: 2.
In the last third, the guests seemed to be out of breath - the TEV had the game under control. Actually. But then the 3: 3 fell out of nowhere - a flick that landed in the goal from the inside post.
In extra time, both teams had chances, the best had the TEV Czech duo Bobby Slavicek and Kokoska, but there was also a little bit of luck missing. That was what the guests had in the penalty shootout.
