Qualified for the semi-finals of the Coupe de France by winning against Belfort on Tuesday evening (0-3), Stade Rennais left part of the match receipts to their opponent. The Breton club left with 50,000 euros, to cover the travel costs, on a little more than 100,000 euros which it could have claimed. In total, the entire proceeds from the match, which took place at the sold-out at the Bonal stadium in Sochaux, amounted to around 280,000 euros.
A nice sum for Belfort, as Jean-Paul Simon, the president of the National 2 club, told L'Equipe : "It's good, there is no problem. It is not a duty (to leave the entire recipe). They still gave us a nice gift. ”

In the Coupe de France, tradition has it that professional clubs leave the recipe for the match to the amateur clubs they face, but no rules impose it. This season, several controversies have taken place on this subject. Trélissac (National 2) regretted the fact that OM started again with their entire share in the 32nd finals, and Tours (National 3) had denounced the same facts for their meeting against Nîmes.
