This is a historic event in the world of surfing which took place this Tuesday in Nazaré in Portugal. Praia do Norte beach hosted the first big wave competition in tow and by team: the Nazaré Tow Surfing Challenge. Ten teams, including two French, have taken on the biggest waves in the world, so huge that surfers must be towed by jet skis for their safety.
Frenchwoman Justine Dupont and American Kai Lenny won the event in the men's and women's categories. A great performance on the impressive waves of the Portuguese spot of Nazaré. The participants enjoyed surfing waves more than 20 meters high, despite some fears.
