2019 crowned Bavarian Disc Master M14
In 2019, Korbinian crowned himself as the Bavarian disc champion of the M 14 class as a 14-year-old. The competition in Regensburg is still in everyone's bones today: After all, Korbinian needed three throws to qualify for the final fight at all. The Bavarian district comparison battle took place in the same stadium last autumn. And again the LC athlete from Attaching won - with a new best distance of 43.59 meters.
The location of the Winter Throwing Championships 2020 was now Wiesau, which, like Regensburg, is located in the Upper Palatinate. Fog and temperatures around zero degrees are not ideal for athletes, but Korbinian was used to it from training. When throwing it in on the somewhat slippery concrete ring, he was simply more careful than usual. He was convinced that even under these conditions, there should be 40 meters in it.
Six neat attempts
Korbinian made six decent attempts - his opening throw already landed at a strong 40.69 meters. His most dangerous opponents, Max Hübner and Nico Kehrle, had their problems in competition. In the fourth attempt, Korbinian even grabbed two meters more. At 42.41 meters, he was more than six meters ahead of the competition.
Regional coach Frank Hörl, who oversees Korbinian in the junior squad of the Bavarian Athletics Association, praised his nerve strength. He also believes in his new age group M 15. Helmut Weinzierl
