Moosburg - After the past hopp-or-top weekend was neither really hopp (defeat) nor top (a win), EV Moosburg started with almost unchanged starting position in the last five matchdays of the promotion round to the Bayernliga. Fourth place is still possible, but you now need to score regularly - preferably on Friday in the home game against ERSC Amberg (start: 7.30 p.m.).

After the surprise victory in Buchloe, there was great optimism among the green-yellow team that they could also take the points from the Kempten team. But the 3: 8 on home ice brought the Moosburger back to reality. "But it goes on. On Friday against Amberg we have a new chance, ”said EVM coach Bernie Englbrecht after the game. Especially after the three narrow, sometimes unfortunate defeats against ERSC in the current season, a win would finally be due. This would not only have positive consequences for the Dreirosenstadt residents, but "this would also increase the pressure on the Ambergers", says EVM spokesman Bastian Amann. Last weekend really did not go as planned for the Upper Palatinate: At the last Bad Aibling, the Wild Lions only came to victory in the penalty shootout - and two days later they lost 2: 4 at home to Haßfurt.

A quick look at the table: With twelve points, Moosburg is still in fifth place. On Kempten (4th) there are five, on Amberg (3rd) six points behind. It is clear that there is still a lot of (catching up) work to do on the green and yellow. But the rest of the program also includes a number of feasible tasks: Among other things, the EVM still meets the three teams (Haßfurt, Dingolfing, Bad Aibling) that form the lower third of the table - and who were beaten at the start of the round.
At the tail light in Bad Aibling, the Moosburgers have to start on Sunday (6.45 p.m.; bus departure: 3.45 p.m.). The Aibdogs surprised last Friday with the overtime loss to Amberg that gave them the first point. On the other hand, on Sunday in Dingolfing there was not much left of this high - 0: 9. The Englbrecht team had won the first leg 8-1. However, the Bad Aiblingers weren't complete.
