This week, L'Obs published the confessions of former skater Agnès Gosselin , who says she confided in Annick Dumont, a recognized trainer but also a skating consultant on France Télévisions, about the inappropriate gestures she would have suffered from the part of Gilles Beyer. The ex-wife of the man who finds himself at the heart of the scandal of sexual assaults in skating refutes these accusations this Thursday in L'Equipe . “Apart from the ethical aspect, which would have made me react at that time, I had been looking for a long time to divorce Gilles Beyer. If at that time, I had been informed of such acts on his part, I would have immediately seized this opportunity, "she confides in the sports daily before declaring:" It was deep hatred between us " .
Annick Dumont was married to Gilles Beyer when she was only 18 years old in 1978, and she admits that at that time he was "alcoholic, violent limit". The one who commented on skating alongside Nelson Monfort then very quickly made the decision to leave him. A choice that provoked a violent argument: "he catches me on the street and hits me. It breaks my tooth, ”she says. Following this attack, the Parisian decided to file for a divorce and went to live with her parents. "So you understand that if I had been informed of this kind of behavior on the part of Mr. Beyer, beyond the need to denounce it, I would also have used it for my divorce," she continues.
Concerning the other charges against Gilles Beyer, Annick Dumont denies having been aware of all these cases: “I did not think there was a problem of this magnitude. I always took him for a big clumsy flirt with a big chat and a huge ego. And it was a bar pillar. ”
She also says that she had nonetheless twice denounced “sexist” verbal violence and the actions of Gilles Beyer with her second ex-husband Didier Gailhaguet, president of the French Ice Sports Federation, who resigned the week passed: “I have had a lot of emails since 2014 that confirm this. In these emails I go hard, I talk about the entourage or people who advise it like alcoholics, violent or lazy pedophiles, twisted, crazy people ”. But today this 59-year-old woman admits regretting not having "refer to the ministry and not to the only president of the federation".
