Dorfen - It was nothing with the liberation in the relegation battle for the ESC Dorfen. On Friday evening, the ice pirates had to defeat a simply better TSV Peißenberg 1: 3 (0: 2, 0: 1, 1: 0). It is idle to speculate how it would have been if an early goal had been scored.
For ten minutes the ice pirates more or less control the game and then a penalty brought the break into play. But it was two minutes against Peißenberg. The defender duo Ullmann and Mayer did not control the puck on the opposing blue line, so that Lukas Novacek could pull on and away and Andreas Tanzer had no chance in the ESC goal. A good two minutes later, Markus Andrä did not allow himself to be asked for a long time after a counterattack with 3 to 1 to 2: 0.
The ice pirates did not recover from this double blow until the break. Until then, they had the better goal opportunities, even if Tanzer was challenged a few times. Lukas Miculka after only 31 seconds, Sandro Schroepfer after strong Lönnig preparatory work and Timo Borrmann had hits on the racket. Miculka had only hit the post after a good five minutes, and Mayer, storming on the outside against Korbinian Sertl, failed in the guest goal.
It didn't get much better from Dorfen's point of view even at the beginning of the second third. Penalties against the guests brought nothing at all. If Tanzer hadn't shown brilliant parades in series and also helped the goalpost, the deficit in the second course into the cabins would have been much more hopeless than just 0: 3. Peißenberg's goal scorer was her extremely offensive defender Dominik Ebentheuer, who previously seemed to despair of Tanzer. When he scored the goal, he benefited from defender Numberger unhappily stopping him from trying to catch a steep pass.
Without Tobias Fengler, who was injured on the knee, the ESC made it into the final third. Ten seconds had passed when Borrmann appeared alone in front of Sertl, but failed to control the puck. Peißenberg then seemed to have everything under control, but couldn't get past Tanzer. In the 47th minute, Tomas Vrba cleverly threw the puck over Sertl to make it 1-3. The guests did not let much burn afterwards. On the contrary, when Dorfen finally received a few more penalties than the opponent, the ice hackers from the Oberland despaired of Teufelskerl Tanzer.
