The midfielder of Juventus confided in Figaro before the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Lyon, Wednesday
Last Thursday, Juventus Turin training center. Barely entering the interview room, whose view of the Alps gives an appreciable charm to the places, Blaise Matuidi sells us the benefits of the region after having finished with the training of the day and a lunch swallowed in stride with Ronaldo, Buffon and co. "It's been three weeks that we have been enjoying the mild winter weather, it is good to live here", breathes the world champion, all smiles. Almost 33 years old (he will have them on April 9), the midfielder received the Figaro to discuss the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Lyon (Wednesday), his ambitions, his contract extension with Juve or even his dreams of Euro with the Blues. The former Parisian still has the flame. Interview.
LE FIGARO. - Is Juventus afraid of Olympique Lyonnais?
Blaise MATUIDI. - Juve is not afraid of anyone. We play to win all matches, that's the rule here, everyone knows it. Afterwards, that doesn't mean that we lack respect in Lyon. Far from there. I have often seen them play and if they are in difficulty in L1 (7th), they are still good level players. You will have to be wary.
What is the strong point of Lyon according to you?
Houssem Aouar is interesting in his ability to play for others and to be decisive in scoring goals. He is a promising and very talented player. In front, with Dembélé, Terrier and Toko-Ekambi, they have something to be dangerous too. We know that, but we too have arguments to make, I think, well, I'm sure (smile).
