Both the players and the spectators needed good nerves at the second encounter between ESC Dorfen and EA Schongau. The play-down balance is balanced again.

Schongau - Sometimes you just have to laugh away stupid comments. Like Daniel Holzmann, who has to listen to a few sharp words from the Dorfen fan block in the 30th minute. The defender of EA Schongau grins. And drives away. At that point he also laughed well. His "mammoths" lead 3-1 at home in the second game against ESC Dorfen. But after that, the Schongauers lose their good mood for a while. When the score is 7: 7, they have to go into extra time in the second game of the Bayernliga play-downs. In the Holzmann 8: 7 causes Schongau cheers. Or as EAS team manager Martin Resch puts it: for a “victory in an epic game”.
And after all the back-and-forth it was earned for almost 68 minutes. Schongau is clearly superior, especially in the first third. But only two of the numerous shots land where they should go. Friedrich Weinfurtner and Maximilian Mewes take the 2-0 lead.
Dorfen returns to Schongau
But that's not enough to feel safe. Because Dorfen has less of the game - but is effective before the goal. And keeps forcing Schongau to make mistakes. After the first goal, Jakub Muzik restored the old goal distance with the 3: 1. But within a minute and a half Tomas Vrba and Lukas Miculka, the linchpin of the Dorfen game, equalize. Tobias Turner's 4: 3 is followed by an ESC double strike just before the break. Suddenly Schongau is 4: 5 behind. And has to tremble.
"Mammoths" have to tremble
All the rest of the season. Holzmann shows how important it is for EAS. In the 43rd minute he refueled past several opponents and kept a cool head in front of the goal - equalization. Everything back in there. Sebastian Sutter even managed to take the lead again with 6: 5. But Schongau conceded another Miculka hit in the majority. Doesn't matter, five minutes before the end, it is Holzmann again who works for the hosts. But shortly after the 7-6 goal, EAS striker Simon Maucher had to get off the ice for two minutes because of a hook. Worse, the referee gives a penalty. Who calls? Sure, Miculka. But Daniel Blankenburg puts an end to the single attack. However, when Dorfen takes the goalie off the field and six ESC field players face four Schongauer, the doorbell rings. 7: 7. In the extension.
It puts an end to Holzmann after seven minutes and 30 seconds. At full throttle, he runs through the Dorfen defense, throws the disc into the housing - and turns to his teammates. With a big grin on his face.
