The 39-year-old was arrested on Friday evening after his judicial hearing for entry into the country with fake ID due to the risk of flight. Together with his brother Assis, he spent the night in a special police cell in the capital Asuncion .

However, even after a roughly six-hour interview, Ronaldinho and his brother were unable to dispel Judge Mirko Valinotti's doubts about the version of the false identification documents. On Thursday, when the prosecutor in charge, Federico Delfino, declared that the two had been "victims of their good faith", Valinotti did not want to close the case so quickly and now gave the public prosecutor ten days to clarify the exact circumstances.
But it gets worse! Because even more difficult is now being investigated on suspicion of money laundering against the two. For the time being, however, another court of law should decide on Saturday whether the provisional warrant will be upheld. After Delfino's "acquittal", Ronaldinho and his brother, who was acting as advisors, had actually intended to leave Paraguay on Saturday.

On Wednesday, however, the two of them had entered the Asuncion airport with a fake passport and fake ID cards of Paraguayan origin, and both still had legal documents from Brazil with them.
Curiously, the counterfeit papers were only discovered hours later after a raid in the Hotel des Duos. The most important open questions for now are: Why did the two of them come in with the fake ID? And when did they come into their possession? Because the papers are said to have already been leaked to the former Barcelona star in Brazil , although the latter only wants to receive them after landing in the neighboring country.

The police in Asuncion had already taken custody of one man and two women on Thursday, who are held responsible for the illegal issuing of the documents. But their statements contradict in many details the statements of the world champion from 2002 to the investigating public prosecutor Delfino, who apparently gave the absolution prematurely on Thursday.
