It's been on the air for the past week and now it's official too, The Islands announced this morning (Tuesday) that starting tonight, journalists and media personnel will not be allowed access to the locker rooms of the various teams to interview the players and coaches. It should be noted that the same policy is applied in the NFL and MLB.
"After consulting with infectious disease specialists and public health experts, we decided to ban the media from any access to the players' locker rooms. The move was not intended to harm the roles of journalists but only to ensure the safety of the players and staff in the areas in question."
He added, "Given issues that can be closely linked to the disease, all locker rooms and groups will be open only to players and essential workers. Communication personnel cannot come into contact with players. Regardless, communication access will be maintained in designated locations outside the locker room and throughout each club."
