Madrid-SANA
Real Madrid will play their match against Manchester City in the second leg of the sixteen European Champions League on March 17 in the absence of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Marcelo.
Reuters quoted the Spanish club as confirmed today that Courtois had a groin injury and Marcelo had a problem with his back thigh muscles.
According to local reports, the duo will be absent from the Eibar meeting in the local league on Friday, as will City face the decisive victory in the quarter-finals.
Alphonse Ariola, who is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, will take charge of Real's goal, while left-back Ferlan Mende can replace his Brazilian teammate Marcelo.
Real, 13 times European champions, lost in the first leg at home in Madrid 2-1, and will need an uprising in Manchester to avoid an early exit from the competition for the second year in a row after bidding farewell to the competition against Ajax Amsterdam in the same stage last season.
