Despite leading the league in the Northern District League, Echingen zebras and their trainers Gerhard Lösch and Dennis Magro will part ways in the summer.

Eching - Actually, the mood at TSV Eching should be great. The first team is playing their most successful season since relegation three years ago. But despite the league lead in the District League North, the paths of the zebras and their coaches Gerhard Lösch (31) and Dennis Magro (37) will separate in the summer. The coaches speak of a lack of loyalty, the club side refers to principles that have to do with the recent club history of the TSV.

"There was a meeting with the board five weeks ago," reports Lösch. The perspective for the new season was discussed. "Dennis and I said that if we were promoted, we would need three or four players with experience in the national league to establish the club," said Lösch. The association could not and did not fulfill this wish. "We will not drive the TSV into a debt trap again," said sports director Alexander Strecker, referring to the debts the club had accumulated in the past.

A hard blow for the two Eching coaches

A hard blow for the two ambitious coaches, even though they understood the arguments of the board from an economic perspective. The 37-year-old Magro has been an equal coach since the beginning of this season, Lösch (31) had taken over the TSV after relegation in the Landesliga in summer 2017. At that time, he presented a five-year plan with the goal of “advancement”. He wouldn't mind if he implemented this plan after just three seasons.

Considered a hot candidate for succession: long-time SEF trainer Michael Schütz (49).

"The trainers have played a very large part in our path over the past few years," emphasizes Strecker. The sports director, who is also the goalkeeper of the district league team, has known Lösch for a long time: “We both played together in the youth of Hachingen. That was another reason why the discussions and decisions were not easy. ”Both parties tried to get closer. The Echingen offered them a little more money, they would have given up something. But Lösch says: “It wasn't about money. I deserve that with my job. I was concerned with appreciation - and loyalty. ”

Demands "gradually shattered"

Magro and he wanted to continue. "We had a few demands, but they were gradually shattered," says Lösch. In another conversation, in which only Strecker was present from the club side, the coaches made one final request: “We want a job guarantee for the entire next season - whether in the district or state league. And in writing, ”reports Lösch. Strecker did not want to make this promise to the coaches: “There is no written guarantee - nowhere. But of course we wanted to continue with the coaches. ”

It was clear to Lösch and Magro at that moment that it was over for them in the summer - also because Lösch had an emotional component. Because only Strecker was present at that crucial discussion after the annual general meeting, while the board of directors made their way home. Strecker explained that such negotiations with players and coaches were the responsibility of the sporting director, but Lösch was disappointed: “The board members were also involved in the first conversation. And now let Alex do it alone. I lacked appreciation. "

Michael Schütz apparently candidate for the coaching post

Echingen's search for a successor for the new season is already well advanced. "We are in talks, but we cannot report anything yet. However, we are certain that we can report enforcement soon, ”said Strecker. Names like that of the longtime Freising coach Michael Schütz (49) roam around, but Strecker stays undercover.

Lösch and Magro are now looking for a new coaching job. "We are now ready for discussions," says Lösch. “Dennis and I would like to continue working together. If that is not possible for a club, we will of course also work separately. ”The two promise that they will give everything for TSV Eching by the end of the season. The club has no doubt about it.
