Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was sentenced Tuesday to 21 months and 10 days in prison for “assault” and “insults” by the court on the Greek island of Syros, a judicial source has learned.
Maguire, tried in flagrante delicto following a fight in a nightclub in Mykonos, announced in a statement that he was appealing his conviction. Absent from the trial, the English defender was found guilty of all charges, "assault on state officials", "bodily harm", "verbal insults" and "attempted corruption".
