Längenfeld (dpa) - After a corona case in the training camp in Austria and another series of negative tests, FC Schalke 04 has returned to limited team training.

The decimated team of the Bundesliga soccer team was allowed to practice again on the training ground in Längenfeld, Austria, subject to special conditions and protective measures.

Spectators were no longer allowed as in the first few days. A Schalke spokesman announced on Tuesday morning that the so-called contact group 1 of the person concerned had also been isolated in accordance with Austrian regulations.

The media representatives were only allowed to watch David Wagner's team training with a mouth and nose covering, had to keep their distance and follow the unit from the small grandstand. For the time being, contact with the players or delegation members was no longer allowed.

In the first of three additional test series by the training camp delegation and the responsible employees in the Tyrolean wellness hotel "Aqua Dome" in Längenfeld, no further infections had previously been found.

The day before, a person had tested positive for the corona virus in the "environment of the licensed player department". The name is still not communicated by Schalke 04. The scheduled test match against the Würzburger Kickers was canceled at short notice. Schalke's team doctor Patrick Ingelfinger is in close contact with the responsible authorities in Austria for further measures, it said. Despite the incidents, breaking off the training camp has not yet been an option.
