The Polish Iga Swiatek prevailed in the underdog duel at the French Open in the evening against Martina Trevisan from Italy.
After a nervous start, she won 6: 3, 6: 1.
The 19-year-old had already surprised with the 6: 1, 6: 2 against the Romanian top favorite Simona Halep.
Swiatek, number 54 in the world, remains in the tournament without losing a set.
She is in a Grand Slam semi-finals for the first time.
Podoroska makes history
There she meets Nadia Podoroska.
The 23-year-old made it into the semi-finals as the first qualifier at the tournament in Roland Garros since the beginning of the Open Era in 1968.
The Argentine defeated the number three seeded Ukrainian Elina Switolina 6: 2, 6: 4.
After an hour and 19 minutes, she converted her third match point.
The number 131 in the world had not won a Grand Slam main round game before the French Open.
Two years ago, after an injury break, she could no longer afford to travel to tournaments.
She will take home at least 425,000 euros from the French Open - before that, she had not won 260,000 euros in prize money in her entire career.
Podoroska was asked after the game if she had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"No," she said, "I don't want to wake up."
Your coach Juan Pablo Guzman praised the constancy of his protégé.
Podoroska played "at a good level", he said.
The good thing is: "She can play the whole game at this level."
Podoroska had set the pace from the start and forced Switolina on the defensive.
And while some players these days are lamenting the adverse conditions in Paris autumn, Guzman says: "The weather, the condition of the balls, which are much heavier than usual, the time of year when it is humid and cold, the courses are difficult, me think that helps her a lot to play this type of game.
