The world number one Novak Djokovic has reached the semi-finals at the French Open for the tenth time in his career.

The 33-year-old tennis professional from Serbia prevailed on Wednesday evening in a new edition of the canceled US Open round of 16 against the Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta after losing a set 4: 6, 6: 2, 6: 3, 6: 4.

In New York Djokovic had taken himself out of the match because he accidentally injured a line judge by hitting the ball away.

At the next duel in Paris, Djokovic looked battered, had his upper arm treated and made an unusually large number of minor mistakes.

His counterpart was allowed to quarrel with his performance at his own break opportunities.

He only uses three of 13 opportunities, Djokovic six of 13.

Djokovic meets Tsitsipas

In the semi-finals on Friday, Djokovic will meet Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Greek retaliated with a 7: 5, 6: 2, 6: 3 against the Russian Andrej Rublew for the final defeat at the ATP tournament in Hamburg.

After 1:54 hours of play, the 22-year-old converted his first match point and is among the top four in Roland Garros for the first time.

The other semifinals are contested by the twelve-time tournament winner Rafael Nadal from Spain and the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman.

Djokovic is aiming for his 18th Grand Slam title in Paris, Nadal his 19th
