Canadian Michael Woods today achieved his second victory in the Tour de España, when he excelled in the seventh stage, which spanned 159.7 km, between Vitoria Justice and Villanueva de Baldjovia.
Reuters reported that Woods beat Spaniards Omar Frailey and Alejandro Valverde, who finished second and third, respectively, and Ecuadorean Richard Carabaz retained the red jersey for the overall leader after crossing the finish line among the main competitors 56 seconds behind the winner.
Carabaz is still 18 seconds ahead of Britain's Hugh Carrhy and Irishman Dan Martin by 20 seconds, while 2009 champion Valverde jumped to ninth.
