At the front runners offensively too weak - ECP slept through the start and did not score for the first time at 0-3 in Regensburg

The EC Peiting is doing well with front runner Regensburg.

But it's not enough to win points.

Peiting

- With only five defenders and a total of 17 field players, the EC Peiting leader Regensburg is on par for most of the time on Sunday evening.

If only it weren't for the weak initial phase.

The Peitinger run after the early deficit and do not make it offensively to radiate enough danger.

ECP coach Sebastian Buchwieser rated the performance of his team in the 3-0 defeat in Regensburg as appealing.

"We have to reproach ourselves for not having used any of the good opportunities."

“Conceivably bad”, commented ECP captain Andreas Feuerecker in an interview during the break about the start of the game from Peitinger's point of view.

Already in the first minute of the game, Peiting was lucky not to fall behind.

In the third minute the time has come.

Lukas Heger, the brother of Peitings Thomas, serves his teammate Erik Keresztury, who pushes in from a short distance, in the majority.

Just two minutes later, the first Regensburg storm row with Lukas Heger, Nikola Gajovsky and Richard Disvis combined magically in front of the Peitinger Tor.

In the end, Heger shines again as a template and Divis scores to 2-0 (5th).

ECP goalie Florian Hechenrieder prevented the third goal of this one-sided initial phase against Gajovsky (7th).

Peiting comes into play better

After that, Peiting found himself more and more involved.

Simon Maier (8th) is the first offensive sign of life.

Nardo Nagtzaam fails after a strong solo run (11th).

When Regensburg's goalkeeper Peter Holmgren had to leave the field injured, the "polar bears" lost their ease from the first minute.

Peiting now keeps the hosts away from their own goal more easily.

But it's not enough to score your own goal.

After a long-range shot by Martin Mazanec (18th), several Peitingers missed the opportunity to utilize the dust.

Regensburg also got off to a quick start in the second part of the game.

After a face-off won, Xaver Tippmann (21st) scores to make it 3-0.

The ECP swims, but as in the first third, it can free itself from its grip and make the game balanced.

The best chance for Peiting until then is given by Lukas Gohlke (31st), who is losing courage in front of substitute goalkeeper Patrick Berger.

The ECP then managed to outnumber three minutes - one minute of which was with two players more - not to score the next goal.

The Peitinger keep the pressure high.

Nothing comes from Regensburg in this phase.

Buchwieser's protégés now have more of the game and fire from all angles in the direction of the "polar bear" goal.

A goal alone does not want to succeed.

Too harmless in excess

But the Peitinger survive the beginning of the final section of the game with one less player on the ice unscathed.

In the majority, however, they act too imprecisely as on Friday against Passau.

It becomes critical about ten minutes before the end when the ECP is twice short.

The "polar bears" are nowhere near as determined as they were at the beginning.

Peiting stays in the game, but time is running out and it is not enough offensively without Ty Morris and Dominic Krabbat.

Manuel Bartsch misses the last good chance (57th).

For the first time this season, the ECP remained without a goal of their own and in the end clearly lost to the league leaders.
