English Chelsea club announced today the appointment of German coach Thomas Tuchel as technical director of the team, succeeding Englishman Frank Lampard.
The official Chelsea website said in a statement that "the 47-year-old has been associated with Chelsea with a contract that extends for two and a half seasons, with a clause allowing the extension to become the first German coach to lead the team."
And Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard from his post yesterday after a series of poor results for the team.
Paris Saint-Germain separated from Tuchel in December of last year after winning two French League titles and leading the team to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final.
