A French court has sentenced Antoine Conte to one year in prison and another two years on probation after he was charged with assaulting a teenager.
A Betar Jerusalem player has been arrested for the past four years in 2016 after a complaint was filed against him that he hit a high school student with a baseball bat in the city of Reims in France, where he was playing at the time. In addition to the prison sentence, Conte was fined 25,000 euros.
As you may recall, the 27-year-old Frenchman arrived at Betar Jerusalem in 2017 on loan from Reims, and following the good ability he displayed, it was decided to exercise the option on him and he stayed in the capital.
