Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off, while Inter Milan's Christian Eriksen scored the winning goal 2-1 in the Italian Cup quarter-final today.
The Swedish Ibrahimovic scored Milan's first goal in the 31st minute, bringing his tally to eight goals in seven matches with Milan against Inter in all competitions.
With the end of the first half approaching, Ibrahimovic received a yellow card due to the quarrel with Romelu Lukaku, and the dispute between the two former Manchester United teammates continued during the exit from the players tunnel.
Ibrahimovic received another yellow card for a foul against Aleksandr Kolarov, to be sent off in the 58th minute.
Inter took advantage of the numerical advantage and striker Lukaku equalized with a penalty kick in the 71st minute.
Inter pressed on its rivals and neighbors, but was unable to score until substitute Eriksen executed a free kick in stoppage time to give his team a pass to qualify for the semi-finals and face Juventus or SPAL.
