Government gives green light for Six Nations Tournament

2021-01-28T20:49:43.807Z

The French government has validated the health protocol of the Tournament which begins with a trip for the Blues to Italy on February 6. But

The green light has been given.

The interministerial crisis unit (CIC) has delivered its verdict.

The very "robust" protocol proposed by the federations that form the Six Nations Committee has been approved by the French government.

The Six Nations Tournament can therefore begin.

The Blues, currently in preparation camp in Nice, will fly to Rome where they will face Italy on Saturday February 6.

The Ministry of Sports had already considered the health bubble, the multiplication of tests and all the measures respected by the delegations compatible with the holding of the competition.

He was followed by the CIC.

According to our information, the decision that applies this Thursday evening may however change with the health situation.

Under the current conditions, the players of the various teams of the United Kingdom will be able to avoid, thanks to exemptions, to undergo "septaines" by coming to play in France whereas the measures established at the borders of Europe impose seven days of isolation in addition to a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours for anyone arriving from outside.

No isolation on return from England

The receptions of Scotland on February 28 and Wales on March 20 will therefore be possible.

The Blues, them, just needed a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours to go to Italy since it is a trip inside Europe, then in Ireland, on February 14 .

Fabien Galthié's players will travel to London to challenge England on March 13 and will not be subjected by the French authorities to seven days of isolation upon their return.

But these travel permits can be swept away very quickly if even more severe restrictions are put in place depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Tournament spans six weeks.

It's long, very long while the signals in France are increasingly red.
