Riots at Marseille training facility (YouTube)

Echoes of explosions and fire that lost control, seven policemen with minor injuries, 25 detainees, damage of thousands of euros and mostly shock and astonishment.

These are the results of the organized attack of several hundred Marseille fans yesterday (Saturday) on the club's players and people who were at the training facility ahead of last night's game against Ran in the French league, a game that was of course postponed in the shadow of the violent events.

Marseille is in the midst of a professional crisis.

The team has lost three consecutive league games and achieved one win in the last eight games.

After a great season opener, it dropped to seventh place, but this is not an unprecedented crisis and despite the reviews, no one believed the training facility would become a battlefield.

"It was an unjustified outburst of violence that put the lives of the players and staff in jeopardy," the club's official statement and president, Jacques-Henry Irau, told Channel Plus: "We did not expect such barbaric behavior, I think we took advantage of the worst. "I watched the events on the security cameras and I can tell you that these are very scary pictures. Everyone is in shock."

Spanish stopper Albero Gonzalez was beaten and robbed by fans, but later tweeted: "Thank you all for the support messages. I want to announce that I'm fine. A big hug to everyone."
