At the “Starbulls Rosenheim” EC Peiting had a hard time lately.

It wasn't much different on Sunday evening.

The game in third in the table was lost - the first third was decisive.

Rosenheim / Peiting - The Peitinger had two anniversaries in their ranks on Sunday evening.

Defender Fabian Weyrich (31) completed his 650th league game, goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder (34) was on the ice for the 500th time in the third-highest division.

In the game, however, there was no reason to cheer for the ECP.

At the "Starbulls Rosenheim" the team of coach Sebastian Buchwieser lost 2: 4.

The game "we lost in the first third," said the coach.

From a fighting point of view, the Peitingers were not to blame.

From the second third onwards, the guests stood up to the “Starbulls” in an intense duel from the major leagues.

Bearing in mind the many games before that and the always small squad, “I have to take my hat off to the team,” said Buchwieser.

Compared to Friday, Elias Maier and Martin Mazanec were missing from Peiting.

The latter “is our tower in battle,” said the ECP trainer.

To fill up the squad, the guests took the young players Adrian Klein and Sinan Ondörtoglu (who was already there against Selb).

EC peiting conceded four goals in the first third

In the first third there were two early penalties that made Peiting to create.

An unfortunate penalty for having too many players on the ice and a stick hit resulted in a double shortfall.

The Rosenheimers used that through Maximilian Vollmayer to 1-0 (5th).

Peiting's plan was different: "We wanted to prevent an early goal," said ECP coach Buchwieser.

When the hosts made it 2-0, goalkeeper Hechenrieder ricocheted off the target, Andreas Höller was there and scored (14th).

A little later, the Peitinger made a mistake in the power play, the return move was completed by Michael Baindl to 3-0 (17th).

During the same penalty time against Rosenheim, Andreas Feuerecker shortened to 1: 3 (19th) with a full shot.

“That was a small glimmer of hope,” said Buchwieser.

But 18 seconds before the end of the third, Dominik Daxlberger received the puck free in front of the ECP goal and scored to 4: 1 (20th).

The goal was "the sticking point" for the game, said Rosenheim coach John Sicinski.

In the middle third, too, the game was more towards Peitinger Tor, with Hechenrieder parrying all shots quickly.

The guests fought bravely and repeatedly created good opportunities.

Manuel Bartsch, Simon Maier and Pius Seitz (from an acute angle) just failed.

When Daniel Reichert got the puck in front of the goal, he did not miss the chance: He skilfully loaded keeper Andreas Mechel and scored the 2: 4 (24th).

Lukas Gohlke was close to the third goal, but Mechel saved his shot with a great save (29th).

Shortly before the third break, the Peitinger were already cheering: After an action by Gohlke, Thomas Heger had shot on goal, the "Starbulls" keeper saved with his ice skate.

Was the puck full behind the line?

The goal camera from “Sprade TV” could not provide any clarification, the referees had immediately decided: “No goal.” In any case, there is no video evidence in the league.

A goal in the 38th minute would have served the ECP right.

In the final third, both teams fought doggedly.

Simon Maier, Gohlke, Feuerecker and Reichert targeted the Rosenheim gate - without success.

The "Starbulls" didn't have many chances because of the Peitinger mission.

Even with a power play, Rosenheim did not put the ECP in any trouble.

A good one and a half minutes before the end, Buchwieser took the goalkeeper off the ice for a field player.

However, the Rosenheim team no longer allowed a dangerous situation and took their sixth victory in a row.
