The International Federation for History and Statistics announced today that Lionel Messi has won the World Player of the Year award for the last decade, based on the vote of the Federation's members in 150 countries.
The federation published a list of the best players in the world during the last decade 2011 and 2020, in which Barcelona star Lionel Messi came in second place, followed by Spain’s Andreas Iniesta in third place, followed by Brazilian Neymar da Silva, Spain’s Sergio Ramos, German Manuel Neuer, Polish Robert Lewandowski and Italian Gianluigi in third place. Buffon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Luka Modric, respectively.
