Surprising news from Cortina!
Kira Weidle cannot compete in the combination as planned on the first day of the World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Because of the bad weather forecast, the order of the disciplines was reversed, so that the slalom will start on Monday (11 a.m.) and only then (2.30 p.m.) the Super-G will start.
Weidle had wanted to contest the speed sub-discipline as a test for the actual Super-G on Tuesday;
a start of the Starnberg woman in the slalom was not planned anyway because of her hand operated in December.
This means that no German racing driver will take part in the opening event in the Dolomites.

The last German victory at a World Cup was a while ago - in 2013 Maria Höfl-Riesch took the crown in Schladming.
