Welcome to the district league!
Surprisingly, the tennis men at SpVgg Zolling offered themselves the chance to advance - and they took it.
Zolling
- Actually, last summer it wasn't about anything: Promotion and relegation were suspended - the participation of the teams was voluntary due to the corona pandemic.
Sometimes the leagues were not even the minimum size, so that the men's 30 regional league had to be canceled due to a lack of teams.
The SpVgg Zolling would have loved to take part.
As a result, the top people from the Zollingen men's 30 team contested almost the entire lap in district class 1 and won the championship unbeaten.
This made the Ampertaler one of the best table winners in these league groups - and the SpVgg was now offered a vacant spot in the district leagues.
The district league competitors can expect a lucky bag
Team leader Stefan Hegedusch confirms that a large group of people decided to accept promotion.
It was also clear that one would hardly see land in the top positions without the cracks of the men's 30 team.
However, Hegedusch refers to a number of good players in the men's 30 in the regional league or the men's 40 in the regional league.
"We have a bigger pool of players there," he says.
The district league can look forward to a Zollinger team that could be set up differently every weekend.
Hegedusch also makes it clear that the most important factor in the promotion decision were the two young players: Franz Hanrieder and Karim Bensaada were built into the team - and both of them really want to join the district league.
In view of the higher division, the club also hopes to be attractive to other young players from the region.
Franz Hanrieder is the team captain for the new season
The next step in building up a men's team with long-term potential is to change the organizational structure: Zolling's own person, Franz Hanrieder, will be the men's team leader for the new season.
His predecessor, Stefan Hegedusch, is at his side with advice and action.
Hegedusch himself now also meets the age requirements to play for the men's 30s.
The people from Zollingen can also look forward to the Ampertal classic: In summer, the newcomer 2019, SV Kranzberg, meets the newcomer 2020, SpVgg Zolling.
Together with Blau-Weiß Neufahrn, these are the three highest-playing men's teams in the district.
