Former Bayern professional Willy Sagnol will be the new coach of the Georgian national soccer team.
This was announced by the GFF association.
"The content of the discussions with those responsible and the potential of the team convinced me to accept this challenge," said Sagnol.
The 43-year-old Frenchman was active for FC Bayern Munich between 2000 and 2009 and won the Champions League, the World Cup, the German Championship five times and the DFB Cup four times.
In 2017, Munich was the interim coach for a game.
In 2006 the 59-time national player finished second in the World Cup with France.

Sagnol is expected in Tbilisi next weekend.
He is supposed to sign a two-year contract.
Association president of the Georgian association is Lewan Kobiaschwili, who like Sagnol had played for many years in the Bundesliga - SC Freiburg, Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC.
In a main responsible position, Sagnol coached the traditional French club Girondins Bordeaux from 2014 to 2016.
Georgia will face Spain, Greece, Sweden and Kosovo in qualifying for the World Cup.
The first game is on March 25th, an away game in Solna, Sweden.
Never qualified for a final tournament
Georgia was unable to qualify for the 2021 European Championship after losing to North Macedonia in the play-offs.
Georgia, which has been a Uefa member since 1992, has never taken part in a World Cup or European Championship finals.
