World Ski Championships: two medals but… an unfinished symphony for Alexis Pinturault

Despite his two medals, the Courchevel skier did not achieve the World Championships he was aiming for in Cortina d'Ampezzo. But he could console himself very quickly by going into the history of his discipline ...


And yet, everything had started so well for Alexis Pinturault at Cortina d'Ampezzo… At the start of the World Championships, during the Super-G, the Frenchman invited himself to the third step of the podium, in a discipline which is yet not his specialty, but on which his progress is more than interesting.

Four days later, even dispossessed of his planetary crown on the combined, the Courchevel skier savored the money collected from an event he had not contested for a year.

With two medals in two races, the mid-term record was more than promising.

Especially when the giant loomed on which Pinturault remained on three consecutive World Cup victories, including two particularly impressive in Adelboden where he had relegated each time his dolphins to more than a second.

A show of strength which seemed to have to continue in Italy in view of a first round flown over with grace and elegance ...
