THE SPORT SCAN - The Russian club allows all holders of championship match tickets to be injected with the Sputnik V vaccine.

Zenit Saint Petersburg has found an effective way to encourage the Russian population and especially its supporters to be vaccinated.

Before each championship match, the champions of Russia offer the possibility to all spectators with a ticket to be injected with the Russian vaccine Sputnik V.

Until the end of the season, fans over the age of 18 can come to the stadium-mounted medical center with ID and a national health card to meet with a doctor.

Following checks, the dose of vaccine is inoculated.

Russia, 4th most affected country by Covid-19 cases

In recent weeks, Russia had not imposed strict restrictions, relying on the vaccination campaign.

But with more than 4.3 million cases recorded since the start of the pandemic, the country is ranked 4th among the most affected nations behind the United States, India and Brazil.

The vaccination campaign has accelerated recently and the number of daily cases is now down, around 10,000 cases.

Today, around 7 million people (out of 147 million inhabitants) have benefited from the Sputnik V vaccine, which is more than 91% effective according to the study published in

The Lancet.
