Maccabi Haifa fans who reached the eighth game of their team's cup match against Maccabi Petah Tikva at Sami Ofer Stadium, for the first time since the crowd was approved, received reports from the police of NIS 500 after being asked to take off the mask in favor of the face recognition system at the stadium.
Idan, an 18-year-old fan who is soon enlisting in combat engineering, said: "I arrived at the stadium with the green mark checked as I was asked to do. At the entrance I was asked to take off my mask to stand in front of the face recognition system. I did so and went inside, then was surprised to be approached by a police officer without warning. "Write me a report for a total of NIS 500."
His student brother, Shay, went through the exact same thing.
"I had no intention of taking off a mask and I immediately returned it, but it was already too late," Idan added.
In addition, a number of complaints came from other fans with the same story, and there is great anger among the crowd that is making its way to Sami Ofer for the first time this season to cheer on the team in the cup game.
