Strong competitions and wide participations witnessed in the Republic Championship for the junior and female category, which was hosted by Tartous, with the participation of 150 male and female players, who represented most of the governorates, in addition to the army and police authorities.
Homs team came first with 10 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze, followed by As-Suwayda with 6 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze, and the army team came third with 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
The final results of the Women’s Light Contact competitions resulted in the victory of Mais Khayari in the 40kg weight category, Batoul Jaafar in the 45kg category, and Judy Al-Badour in the 50kg weight category.
And Cinderella Kno with 55 kg, Rama Hassan with 60 kg and Taj Abdel Hai for over 60 kg, while the semi-contact championships were won by Shahd Fleihan with 42 kg, Rawan Al Khalil with 47 kg, Mary Sarhan with 50 kg, Hala Bou Rass with 55 kg, Sandra Al Daher with 60 kg and Catherine Diapers for over 60 kg.
In the semi-contact junior championship, Omran Al-Halabi won at 42 kg, Abdulaziz Al-Bahri with 47 kg, Danny Jammoul with 52 kg, Abdul Rahman Al-Khouli with 57 kg, Ahmed Mazen Awad with 63 kg, Talal Al-Salloumi with 69 kg, Ramy Mansour for over 69 kg, Muhammad Al-Masalma with 40 kg and Hatem Gharz Al-Din with 44 kg, Khalil Al-Hussein with 49 kg, Zaid Bakir with 55 kg, Youssef Al-Qassem with 59 kg, Jaafar Dhamiriya with 63 kg, Hamza Khalouf with 67 kg and Sultan Saraqibi with over 67 kg.
The head of the Kickboxing Federation, Muhammad Khreis, said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative: “The new faces that emerged from the tournament herald a promising generation that we will work on preparing for important continental benefits in the coming years,” noting that the game is remarkably spread in the governorates, and the Federation’s strategy has succeeded with regard to age groups.
