Jean Todt is bid farewell as association president at the Fia-Gala.

At this moment he is commemorating Michael Schumacher and becomes very emotional.

Paris - Eyes reddened with tears because of Michael Schumacher: The outgoing President of the World Automobile Federation, Jean Todt, paid tribute to his long-term companion Schumacher with moving words at the Fia gala.

"I miss Michael here tonight," said the Frenchman on Thursday evening.

Jean Todt: "Twelve years ago I voted for Michael with me"

Todt continues about the record world champion: “Because he's part of my life, he always will be, and we built so many things together because we suffered together.

That made us stronger. ”Todt was formerly the Formula 1 team manager for Schumacher's world championship titles with Ferrari, and they had to do years of development work for the Italians.

He is now leaving as Fia President.

Todt followed the Englishman Max Mosley in 2009.

For this year's election, each Fia candidate was allowed to bring six people to support them, noted Todt.

“I remember twelve years ago that I had three people with me: my wife, Michael and my son.

And that's something I will never forget. "
