Three ultra Parisian supporters were arrested following incidents that occurred in the stands on Friday during the football match between Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais, at the Charléty stadium in Paris. "Investigations were carried out which led to the identification and arrest this morning of 3 ultra supporters," the police headquarters announced on Tuesday. These are Parisian supporters, a police source told AFP. The Paris prosecutor's office on Saturday opened an investigation for willful violence within a sports arena that resulted in incapacity for work less than or equal to eight days the day after the incidents, which left two injured. No arrest took place at the time.

Friday evening, at half-time of the 32nd final of the Coupe de France between the PFC (L2) and OL, smoke was launched around the parking lot of Lyon supporters and fights had broken out in the stands, causing movements crowd, the deployment of the police and two wounded. Two farm bombs were also detonated and the game was interrupted 1-1 as the second half was about to start. According to a source familiar with the matter, "the Paris SG ultras have been identified on the videos" of the incidents, while the Lyon ultras "wanted to do battle at Gare de Lyon" upon their arrival in the capital.

The president of Paris FC, Pierre Ferracci, had denounced him the behavior of "ultras Lyonnais". "Violent, hooded people, armed with bicycle chains, brass knuckles, who sent smoke," he added. OL have announced that they will ban their groups of supporters from traveling to away matches.

The French Football Federation (FFF) for its part announced on Monday the opening of an investigation and will render its decisions on December 28, relating in particular to the fate of the match and the possible responsibilities of the clubs.

This umpteenth incident in a stadium since the start of the season has once again placed French football in front of its responsibilities.

Faced with this series, an interministerial meeting had given birth, Thursday the day before the meeting, to measures to fight against violence in the stadiums, such as the final stoppage of a match if a player or the referee was attacked or the ban plastic bottles on July 1, 2022.
