The basketball players of TSV Jahn Freising have to win against Burghausen on Saturday evening.

The duel has a trend-setting character in the relegation battle.

Freising

– when will the losing streak of the Jahn basketball team end?

Preferably on Saturday evening, because that's when the Freisingers expect the table penultimate Wacker Knights Burghausen for the Bayernliga basement duel.

The game begins at 6.30 p.m. in the sports hall of the Luitpoldanlage, spectators are not allowed.

The recent defeats hit the Freising basket hunters badly on the mind.

Because the opponents, ESV Staffelsee and Baskets Vilsbiburg II, were anything but overwhelming.

So victories would have been quite possible - and that would have brought the saving bank in the Bayernliga Süd a little closer.

In the end, however, the Freisingers were left empty-handed.

Coach Buhl doesn't blame his players

Jahn coach Michael Buhl in particular started to ponder after the home defeat against Vilsbiburg II.

“I reviewed everything calmly for myself.

It wasn't so much because of our boys, but mainly because my coaching wasn't the best.” Buhl doesn't want to blame any player.

“Everyone got involved and really wanted to win the games.

Obviously, I didn't reach the team with my instructions during the time-outs and at half-time, or I didn't always give the right tactical route."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

He was probably too emotional as a coach, which built up unnecessary pressure, Buhl continued.

"Before a break and then especially during the break, I have to think carefully and calmly in advance about what announcement I'm going to make.

It's actually the same as at work when I go to a meeting.

I have to think everything through carefully in advance,” says the coach.

He wants to do better against Burghausen on Saturday night.

Jahn-Korbjäger are eager for the match

In any case, the game has a trend-setting character in the relegation battle.

“We have to win this game – no ifs or buts,” says coach Buhl, hoping that his team won't put too much pressure on themselves.

"I certainly don't need to motivate my players.

They're dying for the match.” It will be crucial that the team play is right and that the team doesn't get bogged down in unproductive individual actions.

In the 76:58 first leg win, Freising showed how to beat Burghausen.

Buhl is therefore looking forward to the home game with optimism - not least because he can finally draw on the full range of personnel.
