The shock of the little Thumbs turned to the advantage of Versailles.
The Ile-de-France residents indeed got the better of Bergerac this Wednesday in Périgueux, in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France (1-1, 4-5 tab).
It was the so-called Inza Diarrassouba who opened the scoring in the 14th minute of play. Axel Tressens equalized in the 89th minute, just after a red card to Versailles Christopher Ibayi, after two yellow cards in quick succession (77th, 79th).
It all finally came down to the penalty shootout.
Remember that the two teams play in the National 2, the fourth French division.
Versailles thus joins AS Monaco in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.
This is obviously a first in the history of the club chaired by Jean-Luc Arribart.
To follow this Wednesday evening, at 9:15 p.m., a 100% Ligue 1 poster between OGC Nice and Olympique de Marseille.
Thursday at 9 p.m., Nantes and Bastia (L2) will compete for the last ticket.
