Justin Kluivert shone, Sampaoli got it all wrong... Find our Tops and Flops from the quarter-final between OGC Nice and OM (4-1).

TOPS

Kluivert, the masterclass

This is a reference match for the young winger.

Throughout the meeting, he drove poor Luan Peres (21st, 27th), aligned on the left side of the Olympian defense, crazy.

He is rewarded for his good work by scoring the 2-1 goal.

On a high recovery, he plays the shot perfectly by freeing up space for Delort with a call in the axis.

The Algerian pays it back with a jewel of center in the heart of the surface.

Although not the tallest, the Dutch international adjusts an unstoppable header for Pau Lopez (29th).

His recital continued in the second half.

He deceives the Marseille goalkeeper with a missile from 20m (49th) before delivering a marvelous decisive pass for Delort (61st).

Christophe Galtier gave him a tremendous ovation from his audience by taking him out at the end of the match (83rd).

Under in permanent danger

A sun in the gray Marseille tonight.

The Turk was one of the few to be sharp offensively on the Olympian side.

On several occasions, he overtook Melvin Bard on his right side.

On the Marseille goal, he is decisive since it is he who strikes on Bulka, who deflects on Bard before the against-his-camp.

In the first period, he combined well with Saliba, his evening partner who did not hesitate to split.

He also suffered from the replacement of the latter with the exit of Balerdi at halftime.

Result, he is too lonely to hope for better than individual flashes but had the merit of fighting until the end.

Imperial Bulka

The goalkeeper on loan from PSG is on cloud nine.

For his third tenure in a row, he was once again imperial tonight.

Unhappy with the Olympian goal, he then left no crumbs for the Marseille attackers.

His ninety-nine meter reassured his defense on many occasions on opposing crosses.

Rarely called upon, he comes out perfectly on the return from the locker room in front of Cedric Bakambu.

Quickly, he blocks the shooting angles and deflects the strike of the new entrant, which would have brought his team to 3-2.

He spent a quiet end to the match, well helped by his defense and the imprecision of the Marseille attackers.

FLOPS

Sampaoli was wrong

Some may say that the defeat of this Wednesday is to be attributed to him.

His four-man defense didn't work but it's also the men's choice that questions.

He fields four training centre-backs, resulting in a totally unbalanced squad.

He also gets trapped by Galtier, who moved Kluivert back to the left to exploit Luan Peres' defensive weaknesses.

Very nervous on his bench, he was penalized with a card by Mr. Buquet (34th).

At halftime, he returns to five behind by bringing in Bakambu for Balerdi.

The striker almost proved him right but missed two clear opportunities.

Finally, his team takes the broth even more, behind the polished organization of Galtier's 4-4-2.

By wanting to adapt to the traditional Galtier system,

Fathers exposed

The defender had a very complicated evening this Wednesday evening.

Aligned to the left of a four-man defense, he has never seemed comfortable in this role which exposes him to the liveliness of wingers.

Justin Kluivert did the song to him for the entire first period.

Replaced after half-time, he found the rhythm but was far too wait-and-see on the third Nice goal (49th).

He does not go out on Kluivert, again him, who has all the luxury of arming his strike.

Offensively, he did not have the accuracy in the raises that we know of him but was not helped either by a midfielder well framed by the Aiglons.

A game to forget.

Faulty rodent

The Marseille midfielder was disillusioned at the end of the match.

At fault on the second goal, he lost a very dangerous ball in the midfield perfectly exploited by the Niçois (29th).

He makes the same mistake but the counter-attack is this time poorly exploited by Delort (45th + 1).

Replaced in a right piston role that has suited him since the start of the season, he raised his head in the second period.

More available for these partners, he also projects himself more, as on this corner which he obtains by combining with Payet (68th).

But the final performance is quite insufficient for the former Nantes player.
