Skeleton live at the Olympics today: German starters on course for a medal

Medal Alert in Skeleton!

The German starters have a good chance of a medal.

The decisive runs in the live ticker.

  3rd run (Saturday, 1.20 p.m.) and 4th run (Saturday, 2.55 p.m.)

Yanqing - The German tobogganists have made the 2.5 billion expensive and brand new ice track at the foot of the Xiaohaituo Mountains their own - there is no other way to put it.

Johannes Ludwig, Natalie Geisenberger and Co. take home four gold and two silver medals, it is already a unique success story.

But in addition to the tobogganists, the German bobsleigh and skeleton drivers are also among the absolute world leaders.

On Friday the skeletons Christopher Grotheer and Axel Jungk made history and won gold and silver.

In the women's skeleton, Hannah Neise and world champion Tina Hermann have their sights firmly set on a medal.

After the first two rounds, the two will go into the final on Saturday in second and third place.

The third German pilot, Jacqueline Lölling, still has a chance of a medal in fifth place.

Somewhat surprisingly, Australia's Jaclyn Narracott took first place at half-time.

With Zhao Dan, China has also brought a top athlete into the race who had hardly made an appearance before.

She's fourth at halftime.

So medals are firmly planned for Team Germany - even the golden one is absolutely within the realm of possibility.

It would be a premiere, because there has never been a German Olympic champion in skeleton.

The third heat starts at 1.20 p.m., a little later (2.55 p.m.) the decision about the medals will be made in the fourth and final run.
