The Karate Federation opened its annual calendar of activities this year in the Premier League championship for the age groups under 14, 16, 18 years and over 18 years for males and females within the kata and individual combat competitions, in Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus, with the wide participation of clubs that play the game in Syria.
The results of the tournament for the under 14-year-old category resulted in the Central Army Club winning first place, followed by Al-Shula Club, then Sasa’ Club and Al-Arabi Club, while the U-16 category competitions ended with Al-Arabi first, followed by Aleppo Police second, the Central Army third, and the Governorate fourth.
For the under-18 category, Al-Shula, Barada, Al-Arabi and Jaramana ranked first in the first four places, while the Central Army came first in the over 18-year-old category, followed by the Central Police second, then Jaramana third and Barada fourth.
The Karate Premier League is held in three stages in the governorates of Damascus, Aleppo and Lattakia, and includes classification points within a specific program approved by the Game Association to classify players at the end of these stages, so that the distinguished among them are invited to participate in the Elite Championship by the end of the year.
