SC Riessersee is superior to EV Lindau for long stretches, but also acts negligently and loses the game in the Ice Hockey Oberliga Süd 3:4 after extra time.

Lindau –

What a nice weekend it was if you're a fan of SC Riessersee.

No, not this one, the previous one.

Back from the compulsory Corona break, defeated table leaders Weiden in an exciting game, then made the five-point weekend perfect with the triumph over Landsberg.

But now the SCR has shown its other face again.

If you saw him one step further after the games against Weiden and Lindau, it has now gone back two: bankruptcy on Friday at home against Deggendorf, bankruptcy on Sunday away at EV Lindau - 3: 4 it was after extra time from the point of view of the Weiß- blue ones

Robin Soudek scores three goals

Coach Pat Cortina tried to focus on the positives after Sunday's game.

He saw the fighting spirit that he had missed on Friday.

He saw a focused team that played good hockey.

He also saw a strong Robin Soudek, who shone with three goals against Lindau.

But all that was not enough.

The reason?

Cortina called it: "Not clever enough." Negligent would be another expression.

Because the SCR initially did everything right after the 3-1 lead, continued to put pressure on an opponent who was staggering, who was about to go down.

But instead of giving it the last push, he built it up again.

It all started with three-goal man Soudek.

In a duel, he reached out with the stick, hit his opponent in the face, and was twice in the penalty box for two minutes.

At first it didn't seem to be a problem, because Lindau only offered standing ice hockey in the power play.

Actually easy to defend that.

But the SCR slept for a short time, and the Lindauers, who were not very convincing that day but were efficient, had already made the connection.

Negligent at the back and at the front

The white-blue then dealt with their chances carelessly.

Benjamin Kronawitter and David Seidl failed because of the outstanding goalie Matthias Nemec.

Nevertheless, the options were the predicate: "You have to do it." Instead, the doorbell rang again on the other side.

Why?

Because apart from goalie Michael Boehm, nobody was there to prevent the equalizer.

Lindau took advantage of the Riesserseer losing a target while they were changing their staff.

Suddenly it was an open duel again, Lindau had come to life.

And yet the SCR could have bagged the three points.

Soudek was already preparing for the fourth cheer, but Nemec let it choke in his throat.

Seconds before the end of the third period it was again Soudek and Florian Vollmer who had the victory on their bats.

And so it happened

Hammer program for the SCR

Now follows a hammer program for the SCR.

The reunion with Weiden is on Tuesday, Memmingen is waiting on Friday before the derby against Rosenheim follows at home on Sunday.

"These will be tough games," Cortina knows.

Then the other face of the white-blue will be needed again.
