The Afghan Rugby Federation has alerted, via social networks, of the arrest by the Taliban of its president, Haris Rahmani, by the Taliban on February 6.
His family said he was forcibly taken to an unknown location.
No news of his current situation has been given since.
Nor any advanced reason for this abduction.
From the summer of 2021, the Taliban banned the practice of rugby for women, men having been allowed to continue training.
Re-elected last October, Rahmani has the main fault of having been considered too close to the previous regime.
The threat of execution is taken seriously.
