However, the “mammoths” did not place the disc in the opponent's case as often as the hosts, so that they finally had to return home with a 6:8 (1:3, 1:4, 4:1) defeat.
"It was a great game for the spectators, a goal spectacle," reported EAS spokesman Gerhard Siegl.
The Schongauer showed great morale after a six-goal deficit in the meantime.
However, the race to catch up in the final third was not enough to turn the games around for the better.
"Ultimately, the defeat was deserved," judged Siegl.
Schongau is already 0:3 behind after ten minutes
The Schongau team, which was severely decimated, could only muster 13 field players, as Roman Tomanek was also missing Marius Klein, Jonas Lautenbacher and Stefan Saal.
They completely messed up the initial phase of the current second place in the promotion round.
Before they knew it, they were 3-0 down thanks to two goals from Anton Zimmer (5', 11') and a goal from former Schongauer Mauro Seider (9'), who scored outnumbered.
Kevin Steiner subsequently brought the EAS to 1:3 (16th).

Instead, the Allgäu built their lead through a four-pack in the middle section, to which Eugen Scheffer (30th), Dennis Paster (32nd), Nikolas Oppenberger (35th) and again Zimmer (36th) contributed the goals, within just six minutes to 7:1 out.
Only Jason Lavallée ended the deep sleep phase of the "Mammuts" guests with the second goal before the second break (37th).

In the final round, the Schongau top scorer heralded an urgent phase for the Schongau team with his converted penalty to make it 3:7 (41 st ).
With his double strike to 4:7 (45th) and 5:7 (56th), Leonhard Zink then made the game really exciting again.
However, only for a short time, as Lars Grözinger made the decision with the home side's third overtime goal that evening to make it 8:5 (57 th ).
The sixth EAS goal by Milan Vavrusa in the final minute didn't change that.
