Kamila Valieva is left without a podium in Beijing.
The 15-year-old Russian figure skater has stunned the figure skating world after finishing fourth on Thursday at the Winter Olympics.
Her compatriot Anna Shcherbakova took gold with a total score of 255.95.
Alexandra Trusova was second with 251.73 and Japanese Kaori Sakamoto was third with 233.13.
Valieva, sporting a bright black and red dress complete with bright red gloves, landed her opening quad but faltered after her triple Axel, the first of a series of stumbles in the free skate routine for
Maurice Ravel's
El Bolero .
The skater tested positive for a banned heart drug after the national championships test on December 25, but the result was not revealed until February 8.
Valieva was cleared to compete in the women's singles event by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Monday, albeit without the possibility of receiving a medal.
