Women's French Tournament: Albania's anthem played for Finland, the FFF apologizes

2022-02-17T07:07:43.615Z

During Les Bleues' first match at the French tournament, a new organizational error marked the start of the match.

It shouldn't become a habit.

In September 2019, the French Football Federation was already noticed by broadcasting the anthem of Andorra in the stadium of the Stade de France instead of that of the evening opponent, Albania.

An error which had also cost the FFF a fine of 20,000 euros, guilty of "insufficient organization".

And yet, Wednesday evening, during the first match of Les Bleues at the Tournoi de France in Le Havre, the Finnish anthem was confused with... that of Albania.

A moment of discomfort for the players and the staff of Finland, finally largely dominated on the ground by Imperial Blue (5-0).

After the meeting, the FFF was confused in excuses by the voice of its vice-president, Philippe Diallo, quoted by the Team.

"The French Federation wishes to apologize to the Finnish delegation," he explains.

We have already sent a message to the president of the Finnish Federation to apologize.

We assume this error.

The file that was launched was aptly titled Finland, but it was the Albanian anthem that was broadcast.

This explains the error, and we sincerely apologize for it on behalf of the FFF.

I hope these incidents will not happen again.

Next meeting for Les Bleues in this Tournoi de France, Saturday against Brazil (9:10 p.m.).

Hoping that, this time, the Stade Océane sound system finds the right file.
