Aleppo and Homs-SANA
Al-Ittihad and Al-Hijla teams qualified today for the quarter-finals of the Republic Cup in football, after their victory over the teams of Afrin and Al-Nawa’ir, respectively, as part of the eighth-final round of the competition.
In the match held at Al-Hamdania Stadium in Aleppo, Al-Ittihad booked its place in the quarter-finals after its victory over Afrin with a goal scored by Ali Khalil in the 37th minute, to meet in the next round with the winner of the match Al-Hurriya and Morek in the round of 16.
From the Nawair gate, Al-Harjala qualified for the quarter-finals as well, after winning the penalty shootout 6-5, knowing that they tied in the original time with two goals for the same, during their meeting at Al-Basel Stadium in Homs.
In the next round, Al-Harjala will meet the winner of the El-Jaish and Police match in the round of 16.
