Ben Simmons premieres in Brooklyn (from the Hunts' Twitter)

Joel Ambide continues to wait for James Harden, but so far manages excellently on his own.

The Philadelphia Center recorded its ninth game of the season tonight (Thursday-Friday) with 40 points or more, defeating Yannis Antocompo in the personal matchup en route to a 120-112 victory over champion Milwaukee.

Ambide had 42 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists, and he recorded those tremendous numbers even though the Bucks sent him a double guard almost throughout the game - further proof that as long as he is healthy, committed and focused, he is almost unstoppable.

Ambide has scored at least 40 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in two of the last three games, becoming the first Sixers player to do so since Wilt Chamberlain.

And after the All-Star break James Harden is set to team up with him, and the combination is already igniting the imagination of league fans.

"James used the term 'scary times'. I would like us to use the term 'scary minutes'. I want us to be together on the floor in every game for 48 minutes," he said.

"I'm just happy to be healthy, and excited about the possibility of being healthy together. I need to keep doing what I do, and I'm sure the rest of the team will follow us. We're very excited at the thought of what we can achieve this year."

Who is the MVP?

From week to week, Ambide becomes a favorite to be elected MVP, if he stays healthy of course - something that is not obvious when it comes to him.

According to Charles Barkley, "Ambide is the best player in the NBA this year. There is no doubt here, and no question marks. Damar Druzen is the second best, and Yannis is close to him. But that is the clear arrangement for me."

Yannis Antocompo who gave Ambide Fight with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, understands that there are still some who question him.

Even after winning the MVP twice, even after the Bucks marched into the ring, even after scoring 50 points in a historic performance in a game about the championship, there are those who doubt it.

One of them is Tracy McGrady, who said yesterday (even before the game): "I think Yannis would have had a hard time starring in the era I played. The color was much less erratic at the time," McGrady analyzed.

"Today the space in the NBA is maximum, everyone is able to score from the three, both chins and power forwards. This allows Yannis a space of action that he did not have at the time."

According to McGrady, "In my time, if you could not score from the outside, it would be very difficult to be a superstar. Yannis' game is quite predictable, in the end. In my era he would not put up such numbers."
