Big celebrations for Bnei Herzliya after the 82:87 victory yesterday (Thursday) over Hapoel Tel Aviv and winning the State Cup for the second time in its history and the first since 1995.
The team players celebrated along with the professional team and board members for long minutes at Menora Mivtachim Hall and then continued to the city gate for celebrations along with the mayor, fans and other guests to the sound of music, flares and dancing.
Later the group traveled together to a restaurant in the city where they spent until the wee hours of the night.
"This is one of the most exciting victories in the history of Israeli basketball," the club said happily, referring to the fact that a team that is not one of the largest clubs in the country is breaking a 27-year streak.

"It was an amazing game properly and properly for the state cup final status," said happy coach Oren Aharoni, who has received great compliments for his work since the beginning of the season.
"Playing with big baskets, in the fourth quarter there were big threes and big moves by some players. We were kind of an underdog here, but we make a nice way and a modest way.
We have a bunch of players with special personalities, we started the game not well, we suffered from bad shooting percentages at all, we grabbed our nails and came back into the game with great defense and great actions.

Aharoni also asked to dedicate the title to his late relative Uri Shelef, whose friends and family will celebrate his 50th birthday on Saturday.
